Who we are:
We are a family run jeweller called H.L. Brown & Son Ltd.

What information we collect and how we collect it:
On a sales docket we will only collect minimal personal data about you which does not include any special category personal data. This does however include name, address, email. Using this Web Site, contacting us and purchasing products from us online may involve you giving us certain information about yourself, including your name and address, telephone number, email address and credit/debit card details.

Why we collect it and how long will we keep it:
We are collecting your information for the purposes of fulfilling a contract that specifically involves the sale of an item or service to you. Following the sale, we have legal obligations in relation to the retention of personal data and are required to keep this information for statutory periods of time, after which it will be securely destroyed.

Any information we receive from you, either by entering it on our website, in writing, by email, by fax, over the telephone or by other means will be stored by us and we will take all reasonable care to keep your personal data secure and to prevent any unauthorised access to it.

We may use this information to contact you by email telephone or post to provide you with details about our products or services, or any other information which we believe may be of interest to you. It is intended that by providing information about yourself to us you consent to their use for the above purposes. Other than as required by law or in the prevention of fraud, we will not pass information we hold about you to any other organisation.

Who we share your information with:
All personal data is processed by our staff within the UK. We will only share your information with 3rd parties in order to fulfil our legal obligations. For example these will include professional service providers, such as our accountants who may need to see a copy of the sales docket. We have an appropriate Data Protection regime in place to oversee the effective and secure processing of your personal data.

Security:
Other information transmitted over the internet may be open to scrutiny by others. However, when you purchase online, your credit/debit card details will be encrypted, to help keep them confidential and are not stored by us in any way.

Your rights relating to your information:
If at any point you believe the information we process about you is incorrect you can request to see this information and even have it corrected or deleted. If you think H.L. Brown & Son Ltd has not upheld your rights, we ask that you contact us so we can help. Do not wish to provide the information requested?
The recording of the information on a sales docket is a requirement under our terms of sale. If you do not wish to provide this information then we may not be able to fulfil the sale.
