Few names carry as much weight underwater as Doxa. This is the SUB 200 II, the newest chapter in that story, now in a more substantial 44mm case.

The dial is the draw. A smoked fume finish deepens from a brighter centre out to a darker rim, lifted by a fine moire texture that shifts and plays as the light moves across it, giving the watch a depth you keep noticing. It sits beneath a domed glassbox sapphire crystal, anti-reflective and softly raised, which lends the SUB200 II its unmistakable vintage-tinged profile. The 316L stainless steel case is built properly for the water, with a screw-down crown and caseback and a unidirectional rotating bezel carrying a corrosion-resistant aluminium insert.

Inside runs a Swiss automatic movement with around 38 hours of reserve. Water resistance is a genuine 200 metres, far beyond what daily life asks of it, and the watch wearsas happily under a shirt cuff as it does under the surface. A proper tool diver with real heritage behind it, and a dial that rewards a second and a third look.
